Teleological Nutritional Targeting  - TNT

It would seem our creator not only created a beautiful exotic 'food pharmacy' for us to eat from - but gave us reminders as to what they help heal.

Referred to in the classical period of Rome as the “Law of Similarities” it is now called by scientists, “Teleological Nutritional Targeting“.

Foods have designs and patterns that mimic our body parts. If you look closer you find mother nature has answered all your questions as to what their healing properties are.

A sliced carrot looks like the human eye.
The pupil, iris and radiating lines look just like the human eye… & now science shows that carrots greatly enhance blood flow to & function of the eyes.

A tomato has four chambers & is red. The heart is red & has four chambers. All of the research shows tomatoes are
indeed pure heart & blood food.

A walnut looks like a little brain, a left & right hemisphere, upper cerebrums & lower cerebellums. Even the wrinkles or folds are on the nut just like the neo-cortex. We now know that walnuts help develop over 3 dozen neuron-transmitters for brain function.

Grapes hang in a cluster that have the shape of the heart. Each grape looks like a blood cell & all of the research today shows that grapes are also profound heart & blood vitalizing food.

Kidney Beans actually heal & help maintain kidney function & yes, they look exactly like the human kidneys.

Celery, Bok Choy, Rhubarb & more look just like bones. These foods specifically target bone strength. Bones are 23% sodium & these foods are 23% sodium. If you don’t have enough sodium in your diet the body pulls it from the bones, making them weak. These foods replenish the skeletal needs of the body.

Egg Plant, Avocadoes & Pears target the health & function of the womb & cervix of the female – they look just like these organs. Today’s research shows that when a woman eats 1 avocado a week, it balances hormones, sheds unwanted birth weight & prevents cervical cancers. And how profound is this? …. It takes exactly 9 months to grow an Avocado from blossom to ripened fruit. There are over 14,000 phytolytic chemical constituents of nutrition in each one of these foods (modern science has only studied & named about 141 of them).

Figs are full of seeds & hang in twos when they grow. Figs increase the motility of male sperm & increase the numbers of sperm as well to overcome male sterility.

Sweet Potatoes look like the pancreas & actually balance the glycemic index of diabetics.

Grapefruits, oranges, & other citrus fruits look just like the mammary glands of the female & actually assist the health of the breasts & the movement of lymph in & out of the breasts.

Onions look like body cells. Today’s research shows that onions help clear waste materials from all of the body cells. They even produce tears that wash the epithelial layers of the eyes.

Doctrine of Signatures
Melisa Wimberly, Austin Homeopathy

In homeopathy the plant / organ affiliations is known as the 'doctrine of signatures', where certain plants resemble physical organs. This may be used to help a person overcome any illness pertaining to that organ. A shoemaker named Gorlitz Bohem began this theory but it was the alchemist Paracelsus von Honheim who continued to publicly use this method.

Examples of the doctrine of signatures would be the marking, the white marks on the Lungwort plant - resemble a diseased lung.

Anacardium is a '2 part nut' used primarily for those who feel split in two, hence the affinity to the brain (left & right sides). Looking at the nut you can also see the resemblence of the prostate gland & kidney.

The perky Euphrasia aka Eyebright flower is commonly used for the eye to help relieve redness.

Sometimes the way a plant behaves can also lead to possible uses. For example Pulstatilla aka Wind Flower: a strong flower deeply rooted in the ground but will be swayed left & right which ever the wind blows. The is need for protection from the elements & the flowers neck tends to lean forward/bent over. From this description some factors can highlighted: strong character yet easily swayed ie. changeable, indiscisive, shy, vulnerable... & if you look up Pulsatilla in a Materia Medica this dainty flower has these elements listed in the 'Mind' section.

Dr. Edward Bach used the doctrine of signatures to work with Flower Essences.
