United Nations Invest in Spirulina to Fight Malnutrition

Spirulina is a green algae rich in minerals, vitamins & protein used as a health supplement suitable for vegetarians & vegans.

Many raw foodists swear by it & although not so well known in the UK, places like the USA, Australia & New Zealand have been onto this for
a while now.

The United Nations has formed the Intergovernmental Institution for the use of Microalgae Spirulina Against Malnutrition (IIMSAM)

"IIMSAM envisions raising the level of nutrition and improvement of public health through Spirulina - a micro-algae abundant in essential proteins, minerals and vitamins that can be easily assimilated by the human body.

Spirulina’s preventive and curative aspects; and inherent benefits of easy availability, accessibility, and affordability; make it an important policy tool of tremendous practical significance to enrich the human capital across the globe especially among the Developing and the Least Developed Countries." http://www.iimsam.org/index.php
